Bank Ina to be converted into sharia

The scheme of Affin Holdings Bhd to acquire PT Bank Ina Perdana will be converted into sharia public bank. The would-be acquired stocks which will be bought by Malaysian investor are owned by PT Berlian Laju Tanker Tbk.

Affin Holdings has proposed the acquisition plan of Bank Ina to the central bank last week.
Early this year, Affin Holdings Bhd announced that it had got approval from the Malaysian Central Bank to acquired Bank Ina Perdana. The expansion of Affin here is the first overseas acquisition.
If Bank Ina is acquired, Affin is deemed the fourth Malaysian finance institutions after RHB Capital Bhd RHB Capital Bhd, which acquired PT Bank Mestika Dharma worth IDR3.12 trillion or US$329 million last year.
Now RHB has proposed permit to the central bank to acquire banks shares located in Medan here.
Affin planned to buy major shares of Bank Ina as it will be converted into sharia public bank. Now the major shares of bank are owned by PT Berlian Laju Tanker Tbk, which will be acquired by Affin.
Based on finance statement, Bank Ina is owned by PT Kharisma Prima Karya (with 96.02 percent possession), PT Media Interaksi Utama sebesar (1.64 percent), and Perkumpulan Sekolah Kristen Djakarta (0.78 percent).
