Ito Warsito stay at IDX CEO

The Capital Market and Financial Institutions Supervisory Agency (Bapepam-LK) has confirmed renomination of Ito Warsito as CEO of Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).

Ito will be assisted by Hoesen as director of listing, Uriep Budhi Prasetyo as director of Surveillance and Compliance, and Samsul Hidayat as director of trading and membership. Other proposed directors are Frederica Widyasari Dewi as director of business development, Adikin Basirun as director of IT and risk management, and Hamdi Hassyarbaini as director of finance and human resources. The newcomers on the list are Hoesen, Hamdi and Samsul.

Ito won the race for IDX CEO in 2009. He was previously CEO of Bahana, a state-owned investment bank. Hoesen, who currently serves as the president director of the Indonesian Stock Market Clearing House (KPEI), confirmed that he had received a notification from Bapepam-LK about the result of the selection.

The board member selection was carried out based on a new regulation issued earlier this year by Bapepam-LK. The new regulation demands bourse members propose teams consisting of different names as candidates. In previous selections, bourse members only submitted names for each director post.

The regulation stipulates that a team can be proposed if it is backed by at least 10 bourse members with a combined transaction frequency and trading value of at least 10 percent of the IDX’s total frequency and trading value in the last 12 months. The IDX currently has 115 active bourse members.

Three teams were submitted to Bapepam-LK last month. Although the candidates are submitted in teams, Bapepam-LK is allowed to pick individual members of a team and assemble the final make-up of the board of directors.
