President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono named Muliaman Darmansyah Hadad, Riswinandi, Perry Wardjiyo, and Ronald Waas as a candidate for deputy governor Bank Indonesia.
Bank Indonesia has submitted the names of eight candidates for two vacant deputy governor posts for the President to choose from from and pass on to the House of Representatives for screening.
The candidates comprised of deputy governor Muliaman Hadad, economic and monetary policy research director Perry Warjiyo, monetary management director Hendar, accounting and payment system director Ronald Waas, international director Nelson Tampubolon and head of New York representative office Kusumaningtuti, and vice presiden director PT Bank Mandiri Tbk, Riswinandi.
Two top positions will become vacant in the fourth quarter of this year for the central bank’s board of governors as the term of the late Budi Rochadi, then BI deputy governor overseeing payment system and micro-lending, who passed away in July, will expire in November.
Budi’s tasks have been taken over by deputy governor of internal affairs Ardhayadi Mitroatmodjo.The term of another deputy governor on banking regulation and research, Muliaman Hadad, will also expire in December, but he could be re-appointed as he has served the board of governors only for one five-year term.
