Indonesia offer 16 infrastructure project

Indonesian Goverment offering 16 infrastructure projects worth more than US$30 billion to foreign investors this week at an international forum,

The government is offering 16 projects worth more than $30 billion at the forum, which is hosted by the Indonesian Chamber of Trade and Commerce (Kadin).

Among the projects on offer are a 33-kilometer railway connecting Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Manggarai, the Purukcahu-Bangkuang railway and the Bali tourism railway.

Crumbling infrastructure has been blamed for hampering Indonesia economic growth and scaring off potential investors. In response, the government has led a push to upgrade the nation’s roads, ports and power stations. The government also plans increase land acquisition funds from IDR1.4 trillion to IDR3.4 trillion last year, with plans to raise it to IDR4.9 trillion by 2013.
