Indonesia's central bank (Bank Indonesia) plans to upsize minimum capital requirement for commercial bank minimum at level IDR125 billion.
Bank Indonesia is in intensive discussions about the minimum-capital requirement and ownership rules for commercial banks.
Indonesia's commercial banks have been required to have minimum capital of IDR100 billion since Jan. 1 this year. Bank Indonesia in 2006 announced rules to prevent entities from owning controlling stakes in more than one commercial lender by 2010.
