Sudwikatmono passed away

Sudwikatmono, an Indonesian businessman and cousin of late former President Suharto, died Saturday morning. He was 76. Sudwikatmono died this morning at a Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore where he was being treated for a kidney-related illness.
Sudwikatmono was an executive at Salim Group, which founded Indofood, Indonesia's biggest instant-noodle maker. The group also established PT Bank Central Asia, the nation's largest bank by market value, and PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa, the second- biggest cement maker.
Born on December 28, 1934, at Wuryantoro village, Wonogiri, Central Java, Sudwikatmono is survived by a wife, four children and eight grandchildren.
Sudwikatmono was a successful businessman during the New Order era as he was close to Soeharto, the country`s second and longest-serving president.
Soeharto had appointed him to chair "Dana Mandiri" Foundation to support the government`s poverty eradication program.He had started his business in 1957 in leather exports, and later on he established almost one hundred business entities, including the Twenty One movie theater chain.
