Ahmad Fuad Rahmany strong candidate to replace tax director general Mochamad Tjiptardjo. Fuad was born in Singapore in 1954. He started his career as a reseacher at LPEM Faculty of Economics of University of Indonesia. He entered Planning Bureau of Finance Department in 1981.
He earned his doctorate degree in economics from Vanderbilt University, Tennessee, USA in 1997. From 1998 to 2000, Fuad served as Section Head of International and Regional Economic Cooperation, the Planning Bureau and Overseas Cooperation Relations, of Finance Department. In 2004 he held the position of Director for State Debt Instrument Management, and his last position was Head of Capital Market Supervisory Agency and Finance Institution from 2006 up to the present.
Mochamad Tjiptardjo, formerly director of intelligence and investigation at the Finance Ministry's tax directorate general.
He was been appointed as the ministry's new director general of taxation replaces Darmin Nasution, who was inaugurated as the new senior deputy governor at Bank Indonesia. Darmin now is a governor of central bank.
