BI control capital inflow

Indonesian central bank, Bank Indonesia, was still discussing the promissory notes minimum holding period and that it might extend the minimum duration of bank term deposits.
BI is scrutinizing some new monetary measures to control the surge of capital by, among others, lengthening the one-month minimum holding period for its promissory notes to three months from one month, and extending the minimum duration of bank term deposits from two months to 12 months.
For the next step, Bank Indonesia and the government will meet to discuss policy coordination in managing capital inflow.
