OCBC NISP merge with OCBC Indonesia

PT Bank OCBC NISP Tbk plans merge with PT Bank OCBC Indonesia . OCBC NISP is public company owned 81.9% shares by OCBC Singapura. While Bank OCBC Indonesia is private company with 99% shares owned by OCBC Bank Singapore and 1% are owned by OCBC Bank NISP.
After merge completed, the new entity will use the name and logo of PT Bank OCBC NISP Tbk and PT Bank OCBC Indonesia thus be dissolved without liquidation.
The process of merger was declared effective after approval from the General Meeting of Shareholders (EGM), Bapepam-LK, Bank Indonesia, and Minister for Justice and Human Rights. The merge which is expected to be implement on January 1, 2011.
Bank OCBC Indonesia was established in 1997 by OCBC Bank Singapore and PT Bank NISP Tbk for 85% and 5% ownerships. The ownership was changed to respectively 99% and 1%. As of June 30, 2010 total assets of Bank OCBC Indonesia is IDR4.5 trillion with 4 office network in Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and Medan.
Bank OCBC NISP was established in Bandung in 1941 with name of the Nederlandsch Indische Spaar en Deposit Bank. As of June 30, 2010 the company has total assets of IDR39.1 trillion. OCBC NISP serves customers through its network of 400 offices in 62 cities in Indonesia are equipped with 563 ATMs and can transact in more than 37,000 ATMs (including ATM Bersama, BCA, OCBC Bank in Singapore and BankCard in Malaysia). The bank focuses on small medium and enterprise (SME) and consumer sector.
