PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk raise US$60 million loan from Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and Mizuho Corporate Bank Ltd. JBIC prepare 60% portion loan dan Mizuho prepare 40%.
The loan will be use fo funding sub marine cable communication project (SKKL) specially for Jaka2LaDeMa.
The domestic submarine cable communication system (SKKL) covers Jasuka (Java-Sumatra-Kalimantan (land & submarine)), SUB (Surabaya-Ujung Pandang-Banjarmasin), and Jaka2LaDeMa (Jawa-Kalimanatan-Sulawesi-Denpasar-Makassar).
Tenure of the loan 5 years with interest 2 percent until 3 percent. Telkom will integrate the Southeast Asia Japan Cable System (SJC) with its submarine cable communication system to meet Indonesian customers' demand for bandwidth. Totally value of the project at level US$ 115,40 million.
In the meantime, the international SKKL covers Asia America Gateway (AAG), Batam Singapore Cable System (BSCS), Thailand Indonesia Singapore Cable System (TIS), and Dumai Melaka Cable System (DMCS).
Through its subsidiary, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (TII), Telkom invests around US$40 million to join the South-East Asia Japan Cable System (SJC) consortium in Honolulu, the US.
To link the SJC networks to North America, SJC will be connected to Japan-US SKKL, in which many systems are still available, such as Unity, Japan-US (JUS), and TGN. In addition, the Telkom Group also plans to develop the third route of Jakarta-Singapore SKKL.
