BNI plans rights issue IDR4 trillion

PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk, the nation's third-biggest state-owned bank, plans rights issue to raise IDR3 trillion -IDR4 trillion.
Net income the company more than doubled from a year earlier. Net income rose to IDR2.48 trillion, from IDR1.22 trillion a year earlier, the company said in a statement today.
Net interest income, or revenue from borrowers after deducting interest paid to depositors, rose 12 percent to 11.13 trillion rupiah last year from 9.9 trillion rupiah a year earlier.
BNI has appointed Barclays and JP Morgan to handle US$300 million global bond issuance scheduled in February.
The proceeds tapped from the subdebt issuance will be allotted to increase CAR for BNI credit expansion this year which is targeted to grow by 15-20 percent.
As to him, with the additional US$300 million capital, it is to increase CAR by 1-2 percent from the current position of 14.2 percent.
