Palm Oil production Astra Agro rose 10.3%

Palm oil output by PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk rose 10.3% to 1.08 million tons, the company said in a statement today.
Net profit of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk as per 30 September 2009 stood at IDR1.25 trillion or slashed by 41.4 percent as of the IDR2.13 trillion last year due to the CPO sales price drop.
In January-September 2009, subsidiary firm of PT Astra International Tbk here booked IDR5.46 trillion net sales or declining from IDR6.70 trillion last year. Business profit dropped 38.5 percent as from IDR3.11 trillion into IDR1.91 trillion.
CPO average sale price in the nine months this year slipped 20.8 percent as of IDR7,995 per kilogram into IDR6,336. The sale price drop could hardly be compensated by the soaring sales volume of 88 percent as from 706.148 tons into 767,946 tons.
The company sells most CPO products (87.8 percent ) to the domestic market and the remaining 12.2 percent for export market. At the same time, Astra Agro produces 785,950 tons of CPO or rose 6.9 percent from 735500 tons.
This year the company has plans to build two CPO refineries with a total investment of IDR200 billion to support the company's business expansion.
