Michael Ruslim, president director of Indonesia's biggest auto retailer PT Astra International Tbk, died in Singapore after being hospitalized with dengue fever. Michael Ruslim died today at 7:08 a.m. Singapore time at the Mount Elizabeth hospital.
He was appointed as President Director of PT Astra International Tbk in May 2005. He has overall responsibility for the Group's businesses.
Ruslim was previously Vice President Director from 2002 to 2005 and Director from 1991 to 2002. Prior to joining the Company in 1983, he was Assistant Vice President of Citibank N.A. Jakarta. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1976 with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and holds a Master in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1978.
