Asia Pacific Breweries acquire Multi Bintang

Asia Pacific Breweries will buy its 68.5percent stake in PT Multi Bintang Indonesia for 157 million euros, In the same time, Asia Pacific Breweries take over its 87.3 percent interest in Grande Brasserie de Nouvelle Caledonie SA for 57 million euros.
Heineken NV reached an agreement tohave United Breweries Ltd. brew and distribute the Heineken brand in India, resolving a year long conflict over its partnerships in India.
Heineken also said today that it will sell stakes in two Asian units to Asia Pacific Breweries, producing a book gain of 145 million euros ($215.7 million) and allowing the company to reduce debt by 175 million euros.
Heineken said it will buy the Indian unitof Asia Pacific Breweries and incorporate it into a joint
venture with United Breweries. Heineken inherited a 37.5 percent stake in United Breweries when it jointly acquired Scottish & Newcastle Plc last year, creating a conflict with Asia Pacific
Breweries, its partner in the region since 1931. Scottish & Newcastle was bought jointly with Carlsberg A/S, with each brewer carving out assets.
